Ken Calvert is a former small business owner from Corona and current U.S. Representative for the 42nd Congressional District.
Following the redistricting process, Ken is running for election in the newly drawn 41st Congressional District. Ken is a lifelong resident of Corona, which is the largest city in the 41st District. Other cities in the district include Norco, Lake Elsinore, Wildomar, Canyon Lake, Menifee, Calimesa, Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, La Quinta, as well as portions of Eastvale and Riverside.
In the House of Representatives, Ken is a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee where he serves as the top Republican on the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee. Ken is the Dean and Chairman of the California Republican House Delegation. Ken is also a Deputy Chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee.
Prior to Congress, Ken was a successful small business owner in the restaurant and commercial brokerage and development industries.
Ken’s legislative work has received top ratings from the Americans for Tax Reform, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, National Federation of Independent Businesses, National Association of Manufacturers, and the 60 Plus Association.
Ken was the author of legislation that created the E-Verify system, which is used to verify to legal status of newly hired employees. While the free, Internet-based system is currently used on a voluntary basis by businesses around the nation, Ken is a leading advocate for legislation to make the use of E-Verify mandatory.
As our Congressman, Ken has successfully secured more than a billion dollars in federal funding for transportation, water, and clean air projects for Riverside County. Ken and his office have helped thousands of constituents to ensure veterans and seniors receive the benefits they deserve.
