Luis and his wife Karen immigrated to the United States of America in 2003 from Uruguay. Luis’ father was active in politics and became President in 1999. Luis understands the importance of having politicians who represent the needs of their constituents. Luis became a citizen of the United States of America on October 12, 2012, while living in Kentucky.
Luis started his American Dream as a dishwasher, then quickly was hired as a bilingual staffing diversity recruiter for Toyota. Soon after Luis became a safety training supervisor for one of the nation's largest railroad companies. After six years, Luis became a senior business analyst for a Fortune 500 company, where he attained his Microsoft certification.
In 2016, Luis was the general manager for a $2 billion dollar meat distributor in Texas. After being promoted to the director of operations, Luis’ territory extended to Arizona. In 2017 Luis and his family moved full-time to Arizona, where he and his wife opened his own business The Box Meat Shop.
In addition to being a successful small business owner, Luis is a triathlete having completed five Ironman competitions. He is an avid hunter and defender of the Second Amendment
He has had experience in Washington, D.C. as an advocate for lawful immigration, and has recently decided after years of political involvement, to step into the political world of Arizona politics
