Mike Ford was born in Macon and practiced law in Dunwoody for decades. He has been a Hall County resident for many years and lives here with his wife, Jeri and their German Shepard dog, Bear. Mike's son, Taylor, lives in Gwinnett County with his daughter-in-law, Katheryn and grandson, Alex.
After graduating from high school in 1964, Mike attended Mercer University and then served in the Army. He deployed to Viet Nam and was awarded the Air Medal with Six Oak Leaf Clusters, the National Defense Service Medal, the Viet Nam Service Medal, and the Republic of Viet Nam Campaign Medal. Mike was released from active service in 1968.
After leaving the Army, Mike worked in general aviation in Macon while attending college at night. He obtained his pilot license, ground instructor license and served as a check pilot. Along the way, he became a certified SCUBA diver. Mike completed John Marshal Law School at night, passed the early Bar Examination and became an attorney in 1976. His practice has included the State Courts of Georgia, Federal District Courts, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. Mike is now retiring and winding down his practice.
