Where Monte’s From
Hodges is a 1990 graduate of Blytheville High School.
He is married to Rhonda (Morris) Hodges of Joiner, Arkansas and they have an adorable thirteen year old son, Jeremiah. Monte and his family attend Wellsprings Church, Blytheville, and he is also an ordained minister.
Monte is Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending at Southern Bancorp, Blytheville.
Monte is currently serving his fifth term in the Arkansas House of Representative as a Democrat for District 55 (now 34).
Rep. Hodges served nine years in the U.S. military, and he’s ready to serve the First in Congress.
Monte served as Assistant Speaker Pro Tempore for Caucus District 1 during his 2nd term in office.
In 2016, Monte was one of 25 minority elected official selected from southern states to participate in The Roundtable of the South in Washington, DC, sponsored by the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies.
Monte was selected in 2019 as one of 20 leaders from across the country to join the New DEAL (Developing Exceptional American Leaders), a selective national network of state and local elected officials.
Monte is currently co-chair of JBC Peer Review and serves on Revenue & Taxation Committee, Insurance Commerce and Joint Budget.
Monte was also appointed by the Speaker of the House to serve on the Budgets and Revenue Committee of the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) for the 2017 – 2018 biennium.
