During his State of the University Address on Oct, 4, 2016, Chancellor Sam Hawgood, MBBS, highlighted UCSF’s Science and Health Education Partnership (SEP), a nearly 30-year-old program that brings science and health education to thousands of students in the San Francisco Unified School District. The SEP program, the brainchild of UCSF faculty Bruce Alberts, PhD, and David Ramsay, DM, now reaches about 90 percent of the public schools in San Francisco.
