It may come as a surprise to some of you that Kanye West is one of my biggest creative inspirations. My very first experiences trying to record layers of myself playing cello were attempts to recreate the arrangements on Kanye’s albums "808s & Heartbreak" and "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy". The latter was released when I was in high school, and its sound, at once modern and organic, has informed my musical taste ever since.

I wanted to pay tribute to this music that has been so influential for me by highlighting the richness of sound in so much of Kanye’s music, and by showcasing the musical lyricism that some people may tend to overlook in his songs. I have had this medley on my mind for almost two years now, and I am grateful to finally be able to share it with you. Thank you for listening!
