Most days this train is so reliable  visiting the same time each day. But today it broke down.
I got to the spot in time and while I waited I videoed some clouds just for you. 28 Minutes of holding the camera before I gave up. I had a look down the line and spotted the train.  Not sure what happened but one of the loco's looks a little cooked.
All the rescue parties worked well towing the loco up to the station so reopening the NIMT
Extra staff and loco's appeared and removed the 2 electric units north to Hamilton.  I believe events like this are very rare and Kiwi Rail are well prepared for the worst situations.
Things like this always take time lots of time, but I think well done to all the staff.  I hope none of the staff felt threatened by me watching.
It was well done and very professional.
If possible I would love to video the loco and in the yard with some explanation of what happened.  If not its ok.  
I think Kiwirail an its staff are just so good  Running a live 24/7 train operation really takes some planning. Ten points everyone..
