Are you a modern architect or classic architect? If you are an architect and next time someone asks you this question, you can answer that we are all modern architects. What is called Modern Architecture has arguably started with Louis Sullivan when he defined a set of rules to express his new, tall buildings. Modern architecture's fascination with a new construction technique is a thing of the past. I could make another video about Le Corbusier's tirade against the ancient building material of bricks, and his drive of using modern materials such as glass and steel. But then, his most famous building, the villa Savoye is build with brick, plastered white to give it the illusion of being steel.

When I say we are all modern architects I mean that even though we don't express the construction method in our buildings, it is the construction techniques that allow us to build anything, anywhere in anyway we want. Thus the semi-classical buildings, the houses that look like a dog but also the (for a thousands of years) unimaginably tall buildings are all possible to be imagined due to the modern construction techniques.
