Hey guys! Today I'm talking about learning ANY language, not just Chinese or Korean, or any one specific language. You probably already know it as I mention it from time to time but it's important to say that I'm not just an Asian polyglot. I also speak two European languages (English and Russian) and I've been working with clients helping them learn other languages as well, not just Asian languages. So the backbone of the system I'll share with you applies to learning pretty much ANY language.

What you need to keep in mind when starting to learn a foreign language are the following things:

1. The right textbooks. Google the best textbooks available for the language that you're learning.

2. The best teacher. This might seem obvious to some but there are people who try to learn languages on their own. It's not to say that it's impossible to master a foreign language on your own but trust me, that's gonna take you a looooong time to do it (we're looking at AT LEAST two years, likely MUCH more for most people). 3. Write down new words you learn. Get a notebook and actually write down new words by hand! I also recommend my coaching students to come with at least one example sentence with each word they write down.

4. Track your study time. Create an Excel or Google Spreadsheet where you track your time. How many minutes do you study every day? Whatever the actual number is for any given day, write it down. If you didn't study on one day, put a 0. Then calculate a monthly average. My recommended monthly average is 60-90 minutes per day. So if you skip one day, you need to catch up later!
